JOHANNESBURG - Joburg Water has announced that over R30 billion has been invested towards addressing structural challenges at several reservoirs.
Residents in different parts of the metro have been battling irregular access to water for almost a decade.
In a media briefing today, the City of Johannesburg has admitted that its water systems are in a critical condition as a result of investment delays.
MMC of Environment and Infrastructure Jack Sekwalia said, " We agree that we took long to invest in infrastructure. If you look at how we've done Brixton Reservoir, we asked our team contractor to even work 24 hours. So there was a two-shift system.”
