A 49-year-old female was arrested after police found 312 mandrax tablets hidden at a property in Mitchells Plain.

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police arrested a suspect for the possession of mandrax tablets.

The arrest took place on Friday in Chelsea Street, Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain.

A 49-year-old female was arrested after police found 312 mandrax tablets hidden on the property.

Members then arrested two other suspects in Mfuleni.

Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie said the suspects would appear in the Mitchells Plain and Blue Downs magistrate's courts once charged.

"The members followed up on the information and tracked the vehicle in Nciba Street. A 9mm pistol without a serial number with eight rounds of ammunition, three cellular telephones and an undisclosed amount of cash were found inside the vehicle. They face charges related to the illegal possession of a firearm and the possession of a hijacked vehicle," said Pojie.
