Rand Water confirms parts of Joburg still without water

JOHANNESBURG - Rand Water has confirmed that its Eikenof pumping station is now operating at full capacity following a power outage that affected water supply.
Parts of Johannesburg have been experiencing reduced water pressure, while some in Randburg have reported not having water at all.
Although Rand Water’s Eikenhof station is now pumping at full capacity, water supply has yet to be fully restored.
Joburg water spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala said the entity’s systems are in the recovery process.
“Johannesburg water has however noted improved inflows, but the system remains constrained. Further improvements are anticipated between today and tomorrow as inflows continue to stabilise.”
Shabalala listed the affected systems.
“The following systems are currently impacted. The commando System, Waterval tower, Quellerina tower, Crown Gardens reservoir, eagles Nest reservoir and Naturena reservoir. Alternative water supply will continue to be arranged for the affected areas.”
