Lusikisiki mass shooting trial adjourned until January

The first session of the Lusikisiki mass murder trial has now come to an end.
The six men accused of the massacre, where 18 people were murdered in Ngobozana village in the Eastern Cape, will be back in the dock next year.
Various witnesses have testified, linking the group to mass murder.

Judge Richard Brooks has postponed the matter to 19 January 2026 and is set to run for more than two months.
"When the matter resumes, it is expected that the lawyers for the other five accused will cross-examine the state’s 204 witnesses. We are glad at the state of the progress that has been made yet because we’ve been able to call at least more than 26 witnesses," said NPA Spokesperson in Eastern Cape, Luxolo Tyali.
