Mother opens assault case after son attacked by group of learners at Boksburg High

A Boksburg mother has opened a case of assault after her grade 11 son was allegedly attacked by a group of fellow learners on school grounds.

The incident, which allegedly took place at Boksburg High School on Wednesday, was caught on camera and has since gone viral on social media.

A disturbing video circulating online shows several boys in school uniforms surrounding the pupil, pushing him until he falls to the ground.

Despite his attempts to defend himself, the group continues to assault him while he's on the floor.

The victim, who has asked not to be named, claims the attack was sparked by accusations of gossiping, made against him by a former friend allegedly involved in the incident.

His mother said she rushed him to the hospital after receiving a call from the school.

 "They kicked him in the head, the kicked him by his lungs they kicked him all over his body."

A case of assault has since been opened with police.

The Gauteng Education Department has yet to respond to ewn’s request for comment.
