Pro-Palestine activists held a sit-in at Greenpoint Park on Sunday to mark 100 weeks since the start of the war in the Middle East.
Protestors held a peaceful sit-in on the park’s lawn, sitting on blankets surrounded by posters and flags from numerous countries, including Palestine, Sudan and Congo.
The demonstration comes just two days after the United Nations held a meeting aimed at establishing a ceasefire.
That effort was blocked - with the United States issuing its 6th veto on a ceasefire resolution since the conflict began.
Founder of Mothers for Gaza, Asha Bagus, said that only by working together can real change be achieved.
"The thing that the enemy has in their hand is that they are trying to separate us. They are trying to make us different from each other. For their system to work, we've got to be fighting each other over the crumbs that they leave us. And so, we want to sit in to teach people that the struggle is one struggle. And the struggle is for equality and liberation for all people," said Bagus.
