The Durban High Court will sentence a man convicted of two political murders on Tuesday.
In July, Sabelo Phewa was found guilty of two murders, including the hit on former Richmond municipal manager, Sibusiso Sithole.
Sithole was shot and killed at the Richmond licensing office in March 2017.
When Sithole was ambushed eight years ago, he was heading into a crucial council meeting.

The meeting was set to discuss issues of fraud and corruption under investigation in the Richmond Municipality.
The former municipal manager never made it to that meeting.
The Political Killings Task Team was assigned this case.
Ballistic analysis linked the gun used in Sithole's assassination to a murder in the Hillcrest area weeks prior.
Phewa also faces attempted murder charges for shooting at officers at the time of his arrest.
