An official of the South African Police Service (SAPS) legal division is expected to testify at the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria on Thursday.
The witness will be the third to appear before the commission, following the testimony of KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkwanazi last week and National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola, who concluded his two-day testimony on Tuesday.
The legal expert will be expected to unpack legislative framework governing SAPS.
The legalities around the instruction by Police Minister, Senzo Mchunu, to disband the KZN Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) are likely to be high on the agenda during today's testimony before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
An official from the SAPS legal division will testify before the commission, sitting at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College in Pretoria.

The witness is also likely to expand on Masemola's decision to suspend his deputy, Shadrack Sibiya.
Sibiya was suspended after he allegedly issued an instruction for 121 dockets, investigated by the KZN PKTT, to be transferred to his office at police headquarters in Pretoria.
Masemola claims Sibiya was not authorised to issue such an instruction, further alleging that he did so under the guise of interference, in protecting criminal cartels in Gauteng.
A new witness will be called to testify on Friday.
