CAPE TOWN - On Saturday, groups of pro-Palestinian activists will be marching to Parliament.
The march is organised by the Al-Quds foundation, the Palestine solidarity campaign and the Muslim Judicial council.
Around one thousand people are expected to join the march which will begin at 11am in Muir Street, District Six.
At the end of the march, members will hand over a memorandum of demands to a government official, calling for an end to the violence in Gaza.
The letter containing the demands is addressed to the speaker of the National Assembly.
Representative of the Al Quds Foundation, Safwaan Laubscher said they are demanding that the Israeli embassy in Pretoria be closed.
“With the marches we obviously want a broader attraction and attention to be reached and that is specifically to our government as well as international governments. They know it's there, but we just want to amplify that type of voices and protests continuously," said Laubscher.
