3 suspects arrested in Delft, Kleinvlei for possession of illegal firearms, ammunition

Three suspects have been arrested in Delft and Kleinvlei for the possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.
Police said that while officers were patrolling the Delft South informal settlement, they recovered 19 abandoned special rounds of ammunition.
Later, the officers arrested a man who was trying to gain entry to a property.
A pistol with seven rounds of ammunition was also confiscated.
The third suspect was arrested in Spandau, Kleinvlei for being in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
Police spokesperson, FC van Wyk, said the suspects would make their respective court appearances in the Bellville and Blue Downs magistrate's courts once charged.
"Furthermore, the members proceeded to a premises in Wolga Street, Delft South, where a search was conducted and a Luger .38 Special revolver was confiscated. A 59-year-old male was arrested who could not produce a firearm permit/licence."
