A group of protesters have gathered outside the Alexandra Magistrates Court, calling for no bail for the 22-year-old woman accused of murdering her boyfriend.

She was arrested over a week ago at an apartment complex in Noordwyk, Midrand.

She is alleged to have stabbed her 31-year-old partner on his chest and close to his neck.

The 22-year-old woman made a brief appearance at the Alexandra Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

Her family members were out in numbers again, filling up the gallery, while an angry group of protestors, said to be mainly from Mhinga Village in Limpopo, are calling for no bail.

They sang and chanted outside court.

“Magistrate, she should rot in jail; she must not get bail for killing the guy.”

The family of the suspect has declined requests to be interviewed.

The matter has been postponed to Friday this week.
