Joburg Metro Police are packing bags of marijuana discovered at a storage unit in Linbro Park, north of the city.
The drugs will be processed at the Sandringham police station.
The bust was made earlier on Thursday by their tactical reaction unit that intercepted a vehicle on the M2 highway.
The estimated value of the drugs is R21 million.

When police received a tip-off, they chased down a Renault heading towards Cleveland.
There were two people in the vehicle, with a firearm with 13 rounds of ammunition and two bales of marijuana.
The suspects are said to have cooperated with police, leading officers to the storage unit where over 50 more bales were discovered.
They have been charged with the possession of illegal substances.
