KZN ANC leaders expected to visit Nathi Mthethwa's home to pay respects to late ambassador's family

African National Congress (ANC) leaders in KwaZulu-Natal are on Thursday expected to visit the home of South Africa’s late ambassador to France.

Nathi Mthethwa died in Paris after allegedly committing suicide. 

The party’s provincial task team has sent a delegation to pay their last respects to his family.

Mourners will be arriving throughout the day to pay respect to the late ambassador, Nathi Mthethwa. 

Mthethwa, who was also a former minister of police and a minister of sport, arts and culture, was a senior ANC member at the time of his passing.  

Party leaders in his home province are also set to visit his family homestead in KwaMbonambi in northern KZN. 

Deputy coordinator of the Musa Dladla Region, Phiwe Mhlongo: "I am briefed that the secretary-general’s office (SGO), as well as going to send someone to be the anchor and every, otherwise we’re saddened by the passing of our pioneers."

Meanwhile, the family said while it's still awaiting feedback from French authorities, they will continue planning for his burial.
