The police's investigation into a hijacking involving a Gift of the Givers team in Khayelitsha continues.
The incident happened in Lingelethu West on Friday night.
The members were on duty at the time of the attack.
Police are yet to make a breakthrough in their investigation into Friday night's hijacking, which saw a group of men remove the Gift of the Givers team members from their vehicle at gunpoint and force them into a blue Toyota Yaris.
The suspects drove the members to a secluded location surrounded by informal structures with no electricity.
In an attempt to locate and remove the vehicle's tracker device, they stripped the dashboard and inadvertently triggered the panic alarm.
The humanitarian aid organisation's Ali Sablay: "They were driven around for 40 minutes in a secluded area with no electricity. Tracker South Africa immediately responded and we would like to commend the South African Police Service, who sent a team out to escort and ensure our team's safety."
Sablay said that Gift of the Givers remains committed to serving all communities in need, despite the risks their teams sometimes face.
