Suspended deputy national police commissioner, Shadrack Sibiya, claims he will not back down or be intimidated in the wake of his testimony before Parliament’s ad hoc committee next week.
On Thursday, members of the National Intervention Unit, Special Task Force and Crime Intelligence pounced on Sibiya’s Centurion compound, where they seized several electronic devices.
The search and seizure operation forms part of an ongoing investigation into criminal cartels in Gauteng, with police trying to establish links to the cartels and Sibiya.

Shadrack Sibiya said he would defend his reputation no matter what comes his way, following a raid on his Centurion home as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
"I’ve been called a criminal in daylight in front of all South Africans. I have been called stupid. I am waiting to have my day at the Madlanga Commission. I expect to be pushed out - this is what this whole thing is about."
Sibiya’s attorney, Ian Levitt, who was also present during the raid, said they would demand to see the affidavit that led to the search and seizure warrant being effected.
"We will fully investigate and interrogate what has happened today and we will want the affidavit, which wasn't served on us, which I will raise in court, we want the affidavit that gave rise to the search and seizure."
KwaZulu-Natal police boss, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, alleged that Sibiya had links to criminal cartels in Gauteng.
