An investigation report looking into potential misconduct and conflict of interest by Tshwane deputy mayor, Eugene Modise, is expected to be tabled before council by the end of October.

The municipality launched an internal probe against Modise earlier in October, after the Democratic Alliance (DA) accused him of doing business with the city, through the security company, Triotic Protection Services.

While Modise has admitted to owning the company, he said he resigned from its list of directors prior to becoming an African National Congress (ANC) councillor.

Speaking at an event in Pretoria on Tuesday, Modise said he was looking forward to the report being made public.

"Those allegations are false but now they realise that what they were pushing is false, they are trying political gimmicks which won't assist. We are waiting for the Speaker to call council so that we can expose their lies to the residents of Tshwane."
