A former primary school teacher in Cape Town accused of sexually grooming a minor is expected back at the Mitchells Plain Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
The 35-year-old woman, who cannot be named due to the nature of the case, is accused of sending 13-year-old boy explicit messages and a video.
She's currently out on bail of R5,000 and her bail conditions include staying away from Mitchells Plain unless attending court, is barred from contacting the victim, and may not be in any setting where children are present.
At her previous court appearance, the court heard how the teacher initiated conversations with the Grade 7 pupil on social media platforms TikTok and WhatsApp.
The school's principal is also being investigated for allegedly obstructing and defeating the ends of justice following the teacher’s arrest.
In previous court appearances, new shocking revelations were shared by investigating officer Warrant Officer Roland Peters.
Peters said the victim told him that the teacher messaged him, suggesting inappropriate acts of a sexual nature.
The 13-year-old boy also told the investigating officer that she would tell him that she thought of him while using sex toys.
The victim added that he didn't understand what she was talking about and added that it made him feel uncomfortable.
