A 30-day court-ordered closure of taxi routes and lanes between Khayelitsha, Mfuleni, and Somerset West has been lifted.
This means minibus taxis can start operating on this corridor from Saturday.
The extraordinary measures were put in place following deadly violence linked to a feud over these routes between CATA and CODETA in recent months.
Provincial Mobility MEC Isaac Sileku said the measures helped to restore calm in the affected areas.
"This was not an easy decision but one taken to protect the rights and needs of commuters and as part of our ongoing efforts to reach a sustainable and peaceful solution with the two associations and all affected parties."
