ActionSA welcomes suspension of Gauteng Health head Malotana after graft allegations

ActionSA has welcomed the suspension of Gauteng Department of Health head, Arnold Malotana, following allegations of corruption.

Malotana was suspended earlier this week after being implicated in a Special Investigating Unit (SIU) report into corruption.

He’s accused of misallocating and siphoning funds, while also being linked to R122 million in irregular payments within the provincial health department.

ActionSA’s Emma More said Malotana’s suspension was long overdue.

"The SIU report details the names of other people within the department who played a role in these fraudulent activities. The department needs to act fast, and everyone who is involved must face the full might of the law."
