Cape Town police are investigating three counts of attempted murder after a shooting incident in Steenberg Road.  

The three victims, travelling in a car, were shot at by an unknown gunman while stopped at a robot on Friday afternoon. 

A third passenger was unharmed in the attack, and the gunman fled the scene.  

Police spokesperson FC van Wyk said the driver drove to a nearby hospital to seek medical attention.

"The driver sustained three gunshot wounds to his upper body and shoulder. The passenger next to the driver was unharmed. The motive is believed to be gang-related. A green Toyota Corolla was handed in as exhibit and towed away to Stikland for further processing."
