Manhunt launched after deadly R300 highway shooting

Cape Town police have launched a manhunt for gunmen linked to a deadly shooting on the R300 highway on Monday.

Three men came under attack while driving, resulting in the death of a 32-year-old man and the injury of two others.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the victims include a taxi boss and his bodyguards.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg confirmed the details of the attack and the fatalities.

“The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. Two adult males were wounded and were transported to a medical facility for treatment,” Twigg said.

Twigg added that the motive for the attack is under investigation. “The suspect/s fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.”
