The matter hit a snag on Thursday at the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrates Court when the accused was brought to the dock prematurely, before he could be processed for an identity parade.
Following discussions between the State and the defence, the matter was postponed.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA)'s spokesperson, Lumka Mahajana, said: "During the appearance, the court gallery was not cleared, hence now the defence was of the opinion that at this stage, an identity parade was not going to be necessary. But as the State, we felt like we still need to conduct an identity parade, even though the gallery was full."
