Gauteng Acting Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba has asked to appear before the Madlanga Commission to give his side of the story about granting bail to alleged crime kingpin, Katiso "KT" Molefe.
An SAPS investigating officer, Witness "A" this week during his testimony alleged that Molefe paid R2.5 million for his release on bail, suggesting that Ledwaba may have benefited.

Molefe was released on bail in June after he appealed a decision by the Vereeniging Magistrates Court.
He was charged with multiple counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder, linked to the killing of musicians and entertainers, including Oupa Sefoka, known as DJ Sumbody.
While Witness A at the Madlanga Commission did not know if and how much in bribes may have been allegedly given to Ledwaba, he heavily scrutinisedthe decision to grant Molefe bail, suggesting that he benefited from the decision.
In a statement, the Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) said that Justice Mandisa Maya discussed the matter with Ledwaba and the possibility of granting him special leave pending the finalisation of the Madlanga Commission.
The OCJ said that Ledwaba denied receiving money to grant Molefe bail and said that he would not be taking special leave.
Ledwaba said he was seeking legal advice and wished to appear before the Madlanga Commission to set the record straight.
