Tembisa Hospital tender tycoon, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala, allegedly confessed to members of the Gauteng Counterintelligence Operations (GCI-Ops) Unit that he had close ties with several senior-ranking police officers.

A member of GCI-Ops, Witness C, who is currently testifying before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, alleged that during a raid at Matlala’s lavish Centurion home in December, he began name-dropping senior cops.

Witness C believes that this was an attempt to intimidate investigators who were at his home searching for his former business partner, Jerry Boshoga, who was, and remains, kidnapped.

"He named the Deputy National Commissioner General Sibiya. The second one, he named General Feroz Khan and General Shibiri. He further indicated that he is related to one General Senona."
