Zuma’s arms deal corruption trial has been ongoing for years, with him trying to remove State advocate, Billy Downer, from the matter, alleging bias against him.
Responding to questions of when he would settle the debt, Zuma had this to say: "When the matter was discussed, I was not here, I was abroad. I am going to be meeting my lawyers to say where do we take the matter, so I can’t be answering because I was not there. We’ve made an arrangement to meet with my lawyers to take that matter forward."
The former president added that a final decision would be communicated.
"That matter will be handled. You’ll get to know then at the time as to what will be our approach to that matter."
Zuma has 60 days to make payment.
