Firefighters are still monitoring hotspots after a blaze burned around 500 hectares of land in Gansbaai, in the Western Cape.
The fire started on Saturday and spread rapidly through mountainous terrain, making it difficult for crews to reach the fire line.
Guests from the Grootbos Forest Lodge were reportedly evacuated as a precaution on Saturday night, while local landowners were urged to remain on alert.
Light rain has helped to slow the spread of the fire, and no damage to buildings has been reported.
Authorities said flare-ups remain a concern, but relief crews remain on the scene.
