The red carpet is being rolled out at the inaugural Western Cape Investment Summit 2025 (WCIS 2025), a three-day event set for 5 to 7 November at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
Anchored by the theme "Catalysing Growth, Connecting Opportunities," the summit is a meticulously crafted deal-making platform designed to unite local, national, and international investors with high-impact, transformative projects in categories such as:
• Green Economy and sustainability
• Technology and digital innovation
• Manufacturing and industry
• Agribusiness and food systems
• Logistics and warehousing
• Tourism and experiential economy
• Property and retail
• Creative industries
Western Cape Premier Alan Winde explained that the core benefit for investors is a guaranteed stream of pre-vetted deals, direct access to one-on-one meetings with key decision makers, and a deal room that provides real-time advisory and transaction support.
The summit will facilitate the streamlining of investment through simplified regulatory frameworks and fast-tracked approvals, with a dedicated regulatory forum allowing direct dialogue with government facilitators.
Winde says a total of 266 business proposals were submitted. After vetting these proposals, 110 were selected as ready "to do deals".
The summit aims to facilitate investments across various sectors of between R399 billion and R446 billion, spanning more than 100 projects.
"We've set our vision to build our economy to a trillion-rand economy. Growth on jobs is an apex project. We've got a whole range of things we're doing in making sure we're growing the economy," said Winde.
