Protesting organisations in KwaZulu-Natal have vowed to ensure that justice is served for twins who plunged down a lift shaft in Durban.

Last week, seven-year-old Aphelele Dlamini died, while his sister, Aphile, remains in hospital after falling into a shaft at the building they lived in in the Durban CBD.

On Monday, thousands of people took to the streets in Durban, demanding justice for the twins.

March in March movement leader, Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma: "That is what people are worried about that it is not the first time an incident of this nature happened, In 2023, there was a similar incident of this nature and there were no answers given and it is 2025 now, there’s the same thing happening again."

KZN ANC Youth League representative, Nkululeko Mfeka: "We must have an immediate intervention on this for justice to be served as quickly as possible for the families and we want timeframes and promises that will be thrown without timeframes."
