The Parliament Ad Hoc Committee investigating allegations of police corruption and interference has set its sights on controversial businessman Brown Mogotsi, summoning him to be answerable to claims made during testimony sessions.
Evidence leader Advocate Norman Arendse confirmed that Mogotsi is a priority witness for the committee.
"Mr Brown Mogotsi, obviously, is an important witness that we need to call," Arendse stated.
Members of the committee are also determined to hear from forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan, whose name has surfaced multiple times during the hearings.
Committee member Leigh Ann Mathys stressed that O'Sullivan must appear to respond to allegations of interference and his alleged links to the Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya.
"Paul O’Sullivan is a definite yes, and must be engaged almost immediately as a priority," Mathys said.
Meanwhile, the committee awaits confirmation on whether Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala will testify. Matlala is currently incarcerated at the Kgosi Mampuru Maximum Security Prison in Pretoria on murder charges.
