The second suspect, who is believed to be the mastermind behind a recent mass shooting in Westbury, is set to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on Monday.

The 35-year-old was arrested by the Anti-Gang Unit last week for alleged links to the shooting that claimed the lives of two teenagers and left six others injured.

He’s the second suspect to be arrested in the matter after a 20-year-old linked to the shooting was arrested earlier.

The two teens who died in a hail of bullets on Croesus Street on 21 October were part of a group of teenagers between the ages of 14 and 19 who were attacked that day.

According to police, the teenagers were approached by four suspects on foot carrying firearms.

Last Friday, the first suspect appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrates Court.

His case was postponed to Thursday for a bail application.

The alleged mastermind will appear before the same court for his first appearance.
