The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has heard about how former Police Minister Bheki Cele and national police commissioner, Fannie Masemola, allegedly received millions of rands from tender tycoon, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.

This is according to controversial North West businessman and alleged Crime Intelligence agent, Brown Mogotsi.

Mogotsi concluded his testimony before the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria on Tuesday, where he made explosive counterclaims against Masemola and others.

Brown Mogotsi alleges that Matlala paid millions to both Cele and Masemola in gratification for scoring a R360 million SAPS tender.

Mogotsi claims Matalala told him this while incarcerated, over a telephonic conversation.

Matlala allegedly said that Cele and Masemola were "ungrateful" after he’d paid them millions.

"Saying that 'these people expect me, like Masemola expects R25 million from me, and I’ve already given him R5 million'. He also spoke about Bheki Cele, that he has given him R2 million and he wanted R10 million, which means the R8 million was outstanding."

At times, Mogotsi could not recall certain pieces of information, struggling to answer questions posed to him by the commissioners and evidence leader.

He will resume with his testimony on Wednesday.
