Investec CEO Cumesh Moodliar emphasises that South Africa's role as a regional leader is critical to driving the growth agenda across the rest of the continent, advocating for renewed collaboration between the public and private sectors.
The statement comes as Investec hosts a working dinner with President Cyril Ramaphosa, a small government delegation, and prominent leaders in the corporate sector.
This meeting is part of the president's ongoing initiative to attract investment and stimulate economic growth.
Moodliar specifically called on key industries to participate actively in this effort. He highlighted the need for the financial services, telecommunications, mining, and manufacturing sectors to engage to "move the needle" on economic progress.
"It is the responsibility that we have as a regional economy and as one of the strongest economies on the continent to play a role to build regional collaboration, cross-border trade and to continue building on strong policy and a legislative environment that will foster investment."
