The G20 Leaders’ Summit entered its second day today - with its biggest hurdle already overcome.
On Saturday, President Cyril Ramaphosa switched up the programme by tabling a consensus declaration to the gathering immediately after his opening remarks, while the cameras were still rolling.

International Relations Minister Ronald Lamola said there is no disrespect intended by South Africa's refusal to hand over the G20 leadership to a US Embassy diplomat.
However, Lamola stated that it would "not be proper" for a head of state to pass on the presidency to a Charge d'Affairs.

With the final declaration already secured, government leaders remaining at Nasrec on Day Two of the G20 Summit held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of closed-door plenary sessions.
The focus of discussions on Sunday included Decent Work, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the beneficiation of critical minerals.

Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, stated that Cabinet ministers are not entirely worried about the prospect of having their visas revoked by the United States, even as tensions appear to simmer between the two nations.

The G20 Leaders’ Summit has ended in Johannesburg, with President Cyril Ramaphosa hailing it a success for multilateralism.
Ramaphosa said that by meeting during a time of significant challenges, the global Group of 20 had demonstrated its ability to still come together in pursuit of a better world.
