South African swimming sensation Matthew Caldwell and rising star Scarlett Le Roux clinched bronze medals at the highly competitive Belarus Swimming Cup, making a significant impact on the international stage.

The prestigious event, which attracted elite swimmers globally, was held at the 25m Belarus Aquatics Centre in Minsk from 20 to 23 November.

Caldwell showcased remarkable endurance and skill in the demanding men’s 1,500m freestyle, securing his bronze medal with an impressive time of 14:59.16.

Simultaneously, Le Roux delivered a stunning performance in the women’s 400m freestyle, earning her bronze after shattering her personal best with a new record time of 4:18.33.

Their teammates also delivered strong showings: Jessica Thompson put forth a solid effort, finishing in 4th place in the 50m butterfly final with a swift time of 26.00 seconds, following a strong semifinal swim of 26.16.

Jarden Eaton also made his mark, achieving a new personal best time of 52.29 seconds to finish 6th in the 100m butterfly final.

Both Caldwell and Le Roux’s podium finishes underscore their dedication and skill in the pool, contributing to a successful outing for the South African team at this prestigious international meet.
