Rocky terrain is hampering fire vehicles from assisting firefighting efforts on the Visgat fire in the Witzenberg Valley.

Spokesperson Jo-Anne Otto added that the fire in McGregor, which migrated from Genadendal, was burning in a broken line in the mountains.
 
"In McGregor, the fire is high up in the mountains. The teams are monitoring the situation and there is currently no threat to property. The fire in the Rocklands area has been completely contained, however, the teams are battling the fire in the Visgat area."

Meanwhile, a small fire broke out along the R44 in Gansbaai on Sunday and mop-up operations are underway.
 
In Cape Town, a single structure was lost in a fire in Eighteenth Avenue, Kensington on Friday.
 
Fire chief, Jermaine Carelse, said that no injuries were reported but nine people were displaced.
 
A fire that broke out in Dido Valley on Saturday was brought under control on Sunday morning.
