SANParks sends ground crews to tackle Signal Hill fire

A fire has reportedly started on Signal Hill, prompting an immediate response from firefighting teams.

A thin stream of smoke can be seen billowing from the Camps Bay side of the hill.

Table Mountain National Park spokesperson, Megan Taplin, confirmed the mobilisation of ground crews:

"SANParks has dispatched two ground firefighting crews to a fire that has recently started on Signal Hill. We will continue to attend to the fire and monitor the situation to determine whether aerial resources are needed."

Firefighters have been dispatched to the scene to douse the blaze. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
