Limpopo Police have arrested 19 people during an operation aimed at curbing ongoing taxi-related violence between the Giyani and Malamulele routes.

The feud, which involves incidents of intimidation, robbery, and assault, dates back to October. Since the rivalry conflict began, eight cases have been reported, prompting Giyani police to partner with the Provincial Taxi Violence Task Team.

All the arrested suspects are male, aged between 29 and 55.

Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Hlulani Mashaba, confirmed the arrests and emphasised the police's commitment to restoring order:

"The Police also confiscated two patrol vehicles belonging to one of the associations as part of ongoing investigations. Lawlessness will never be tolerated, regardless of who is involved. We will deal decisively with anyone who engages in acts of violence, especially during this festive season when our communities rely heavily on public transport."
