WEATHER: Cape Town set for cool, rainy Friday with gusty winds

Get your light jacket ready! Friday’s forecast for Cape Town calls for cooler-than-usual conditions, with mostly cloudy skies, a strong chance of showers, and gusty winds across the city.

The temperature will reach a high of about 18 °C, dropping to a low of around 14 °C overnight, according to AccuWeather.

Expect showers for much of the day, with precipitation likely to last for four hours and a high chance (over 90%) of rain, possibly even a few isolated thunderstorms.

Winds will pick up from the northwest at around 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 70 km/h, which could make parts of town feel much chillier than the thermometer suggests. 

Cloud cover will be heavy (around 85–90%) through the afternoon and evening, limiting sunshine.
