Johannesburg Water is urging residents in parts of Johannesburg to be patient as water supply from the Zuikerbosch system is slowly being restored following a 48-hour outage.

The first phase ran from 13 to 15 December, the second is scheduled for 19 to 21 December, and the final phase will run from 6 to 8 January.
Johannesburg Water's managing director, Ntshavheni Mukwevho, said that residents across the metro should expect reduced water pressure and intermittent supply.
High-lying areas may experience full outages and slower restoration times.
Areas affected on Monday morning include Lenasia, Randburg, and parts of Johannesburg.
Mukwevho said that the second phase of the outage will begin later this week.
“19 December from 18h00 to 21 December midnight, this one is 54 hours, and this is happening within the Eikenhof systems. It’s going to affect part of the areas supplied by the Eikenhof system, including Power Park, Doornkop, Zondie, Braamfischer and Lenasia.”
Johannesburg Water said water tankers will be deployed to areas experiencing outages during the maintenance period.
