Two informal settlements in the Western Cape have been ravaged by fires this week.
Gift of the Givers Spokesperson Ali Sablay said that more than 200 residents were assisted in Imizamo Yethu after multiple structures were destroyed overnight.
The disaster relief organisation said that it also assisted residents after a fire in Mbokweni, Paarl.
Sablay said that teams are enroute to Vygieskraal in Manenberg following reports of another fire.
Gift of the Givers responded to calls from community leaders in Imizamo Yethu after Christmas Day went up in flames.
It said that over 200 people have been left destitute in the informal settlement.
Sablay said that calls from the Drakenstein Disaster Management Centre alerted them to another fire within a week in Mbekweni Paarl.
"Gift of the Givers teams are currently on the ground conducting assessments. Teams remain on site to determine the exact number of people affected.'
