The draft regulations and code of ethics for traditional courts are now open for public comment.
 
The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Development said the public participation process aims to ensure that these courts operate uniformly, transparently and in line with constitutional values.

Spokesperson Terence Manase said the process marks an important step towards the Traditional Courts Act of 2023.
 
The deadline for written submissions is 13 February 2026.
 
"The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Development has launched public consultation on the draft traditional courts regulations and code of conduct, an important step towards implementing the Traditional Courts Act of 2023." Manase added.
