Wolseley drug bust: Over 1K mandrax tablets seized

Western Cape police said their efforts to eradicate the distribution of drugs in Wolseley are yielding positive results.
Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said officers received a tip-off about a foreign national transporting drugs in the area on Monday.
"The identified vehicle was spotted and when the police members tried to stop the vehicle, the driver sped off. A high-speed chase ensued and the driver drove to Pine Valley, where he jumped out of the vehicle and ran between the informal dwellings with the members in pursuit."
Twigg said the officers quickly caught up with the suspect.
"The suspect was apprehended and a container containing crystal meth and a bag containing Mandrax tablets were found in his possession. A total of 1,007 Mandrax tablets and 1,047 grams of crystal meth were seized."
Twigg said the suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and will appear in court once he has been charged.
