Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane has congratulated the class of 2025 in the province.
Gauteng came in the third place with a pass rate of nearly 89.06%.

The Free State came in second place with a pass rate of 89.3%, and KwaZulu-Natal took top honours with a pass rate of 90.6%.
He said that the results show the work that learners have put in and the support that’s been provided to schools.
He appealed for cooperation between parents, the schools and communities.
“In that way, we’re to preserve the progress instead of finding ourselves where there's progress, and then it's ultimately vandalism of property because now in these holidays, we have almost 30 schools that were vandalised unnecessarily - that becomes a challenge for us. But overall, there is progress and light at the end of the tunnel, and I do believe that, ultimately, [we] will get 100% pass rate.”
