The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry is set to hear testimony from Witness F on Tuesday, who is a member attached to Gauteng Organised Crime.

The secret witness was set down to appear last Friday, but his attorney raised issues around his safety.

Attorney Hartley Ngoato made a submission for a postponement, indicating they were not ready, as there were still at least a thousand pages of evidence they needed to peruse.

Last week, a lengthy debate around the readiness of the next witness played out before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.

Witness F was meant to begin with his testimony, but his attorney made an application for the matter to be postponed, allowing them to properly prepare.

Ngoato further argued for his client’s testimony to be heard in camera.

Commission chair Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga made the following ruling: “The commission accordingly orders that the testimony of the witness will be presented without mentioning his name and so his image – we so order.”

Witness F is expected to respond to allegations that he acted as a runner for suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya, in that he would allegedly collect large sums of money for Sibiya in cash from questionable characters.
