KT Molefe to make first High Court appearance for murder charges

Alleged crime kingpin Katiso “KT” Molefe is expected to make his first appearance before the Johannesburg High Court on murder charges, on Thursday morning.
Molefe and his three co-accused face charges in connection with the 2022 murders of popular musicians DJ Sumbody and DJ Vintos, whose real names were Oupa Sefoka and Hector Buthelezi respectively.
Molefe has also been a central figure at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, being implicated in allegations of dodgy dealings with top cops in Gauteng and being part of the "Big Five" cartel.
In addition to the murders of DJ Sumbody and DJ Vintos, Molefe is also charged with the murder of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart and businessman Don Tindleni.
He will appear alongside his co accused, Michael Pule Tau, Tiego Mabusela and Musa Kekana.
Mabusela and Kekana are also the alleged hitmen charged in the case against alleged crime boss Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
The 35 charges against Molefe, Mabusela and Kekana have been centralised and transferred to the High Court and the matter will be heard for pre-trial.
