President Cyril Ramaphosa is calling for patience from the public as the government works to implement the recommendations of an interim report from the Madlanga Commission.

The President says the process will take a while, as a final report is only set to be released in March. Ramaphosa was speaking earlier today on the sidelines of an engagement with SARS Commissioner Edward Kieswetter in Pretoria.

When the Madlanga Commission of Enquiry began in September last year, President Ramaphosa ordered for a report to be issued within three months.
However, only an interim report has been released so far, with the final one expected to be out in March this year.

This comes while parallel processes are underway in Parliament by the AD Hoc Committee.

Ramaphosa has acknowledged that there are strong calls for immediate action against those who have been implicated in the commission, especially against suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.

He told the media on Thursday that he accepts the recommendations of the commission in the interim report and is awaiting the final report for further guidance.
