While the latest artificial intelligence (AI) caricature trend may seem harmless to join in on, cyber experts warn that we may be giving away too much information.
Users are prompting ChatGPT to generate an illustrated version of themselves and their hobbies or jobs.
While the images appear playful, experts say that the trend risks normalising oversharing with AI tools, Primedia Digital Content Editor Barbara Friedman reported.
Generating the image typically requires detailed prompts and, in some cases, a photo upload.
Specialists caution that each interaction feeds highly personal information into generative models, which can analyse, store, and potentially reuse that data under broad platform policies.
“You could be handing over high-resolution facial data to unknown third parties. You are giving strangers a detailed scan of your face,” she said.
