Another taxi driver has been shot and killed at a taxi rank in Delft. Police said the attack happened shortly after six o’clock on Thursday morning.

This is the third deadly shooting at a taxi rank in Delft in just three weeks. On 12 March, three taxi operators were shot and killed by unknown gunmen at the Voorbrug taxi rank.

Five days later, a 50-year-old man believed to be a taxi owner, and a woman were gunned down near the Palm taxi rank.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said the motive for the latest shooting is still unknown.

"Delft police responded to a complaint of a shooting on Thursday morning, 02 April 2026, at about 06:05, at a taxi rank in Leiden Avenue, Delft, and upon arrival on the scene, they found a 29-year-old male who sustained gunshot wounds to his body. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel."
