Forensic analyst Paul O'Sullivan has faced tough questions from MPs who questioned his businesses and his appointment to a strategic position in government.
They have also criticised him for making allegations linking certain political parties to corrupt police officers within Crime Intelligence.
O'Sullivan was giving evidence for the second day before the Parliament ad hoc committee investigating police corruption.
Paul O'Sullivan on Tuesday told the committee that he was not willing to be interrogated by the committee about allegations made against him.
But MPs still grilled him on Wednesday about his professional background and his education.
Committee member Julius Malema questioned him about how he was able to start a property business at such a young age when he arrived in South Africa.
"Where did you get the money to invest in the property investment, because you were just from school, went to Military Intelligence and then the next thing you come to South Africa for tourism and you love the place," Malema asked.
MK Party MP Sibonelo Nomvalo says O'Sullivan must provide evidence before throwing around allegations about people.
"When you come with an allegation, you must come with proof. We are not just investigating for the sake of investigating," Nomvalo said.
O'Sullivan said he made allegations because certain MPs were in illegal possession of phone records involving certain witnesses, like Robert McBride.
