The legal status of both Mugabe and Mugabe Matondze in South Africa is unclear, but Home Affairs is expected to provide clarity in court on Thursday.

Their matter was postponed on Tuesday to allow the defence to documentations. The State has indicated that it intends to oppose bail when the matter is heard.
